Youth
Teenage students at Fisherville (often referred to as The FishyUth) are a vital part of the overall church ministry. Their commitment to godly maturity and outreach is evident weekly as they participate in the various ministries of the church from singing in the choir to helping lead children's church to event clean-up.
Besides encouraging our teens to get involved the overall life of the church, the youth ministry at First Fisherville provides numerous opportunities for fun, exciting “discipling moments,” as well as serious Bible study. Our mission is to “equip students for the harvest.” We believe that entails four things:
- Bringing students into a saving relationship with the LORD Jesus Christ.
- Strengthening the spiritual framework that's built on that foundation through relevant Bible exposition.
- Providing students the practical skills needed to make disciples.
- Providing students with opportunities to be disciple makers.
The FishyUth meet each Sunday morning at 9:45 for Bible study in the FishBowl (our youth building). Right now, they have four classes, High school Guys & Girls and Middle school Guys & Girls, all studying the Student Life Bible Study curriculum. Each Wednesday night, they meet back at the FishBowl at 6:30 for a youth worship service. The FishBowl is also staffed and open a few evenings through the week for students to come hangout with their friends in a Christian environment.
